Why did Gary say that he hoped that I would be afflicted by a horrific, fatal disease, such as ALS? In one of his videos, Gary introduces the idea of a death “engine” that spews out blood and guts as a metaphor for how human life is. He argues that life is purposeless and suffering is ubiquitous. Therefore, we should engineer a graceful exit, because it would be better to have never been (the classic anti-natalist position). In this video, I question Gary’s assumptions, point out a heinous instance of hypocrisy, question his motives in making angry YouTube videos that disparage, belittle, and attack others, and invite him to rational debate. The book that I cite is Robert C. Solomon’s _The Passions: The Myth and Nature of Human Emotion_. What if Gary, himself, is the engine of which he speaks in Mendham?
